Day 1
DAY 01 – KRAKOW ARRIVAL

Arrival Krakow in the afternoon

Transfer to the hotel, overnight

Day 2
DAY 02 – KRAKOW

 Breakfast at hotel

 Morning city tour of Krakow - former capital of Poland with entrance to Royal Castle Old Town ( UNESCO list 1978 ) with Barbican, Florian Gate, Market Square with Cloth Hall ( Sukiennice) and St.Mary’s Church with famous altar designed by Witt Stwosz, Collegium Maius – the medieval Jagiellonian university building etc.

 In the afternoon visit famous Wieliczka Salt Mine – ( UNESCO list 1978 ) – 3 km long underground tourist route with chapels and statues made of salt; underground lakes and ponds. 

Learn the famous legend of Princess Kinga, who brought a wealth of salt into the Polish soil

 Dinner at the local restaurant – inn ‘Halit’ in Wieliczka

 Overnight at the hotel in Krakow

Day 3
DAY 03 – KRAKOW

 After breakfast visit to the Sanctuary of St. Faustina in Lagiewniki ( Shrine of Divine Mercy )in the suburbs of Krakow. The church consecrated by John Paul II during his last pilgrimage to Poland in 2002 is one of the largest pilgrimages centres.

 Continue to Wadowice – the town where pope John Paul II was born and baptized. Visit the Holy Father’s family home which is now a museum dedicated to his life and activity and a parish church where he was baptized Time for lunch at the local restaurant in Wadowice to taste famous “papa’s cream cake”

 In the afternoon visit to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska – a pilgrimage sanctuary 17th century complex with Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and 41 chapels and stations of the cross on the hill recreating the Jerusalem from the times of Christ. As a young boy John Paul II went on many pilgrimages to the sanctuary. Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is listed on UNESCO list from 1999.

Day 4
DAY 04 – KRAKOW - ZAKOPANE

 Breakfast at hotel

 Departure for Zakopane ( 120 km, 2 hrs drive )

 On the route – raft trip on Dunajec River ( available in summer season from May till October )

across the Pieniny National Park ( from Sromowce Wyzne to Szczawnica )

 Sightseeing of Zakopane – town at the food of the Tatra Mountains, 1000 m above sea level.

Winter capital of Poland where the World Championships of Ski and other sport events are organized. Famous from a unique wooden style of architecture. Special mountain climate and beautiful landscape attract many visitors all the year round. Visit to picturesque town and its surroundings (a walk along the famous Krupówki Street),shopping at a local flea market and a funicular train ride to Gubałówka Mt. to admire beautiful panorama view on Tatras

Entrances : return ticket to the funicular to Gubalowka Hill

Day 5
DAY 05 – ZAKOPANE

Breakfast at hotel

Full day excursion to Morskie Oko including one way trip by horse carriages to Morskie Oko Lake and walking down ( 9,5 km one way trekking ), difficulty : medium. A part of the way is by horsedrawn cart ( 1 hr ) then a walk up to Morskie Oko lake ( the Eye of the Sea ).

 Drive to Chocholow village – a living museum with wooden 18th century houses

Presentation of making a local ship cheese ‘oscypek ‘ in a local shelter

Dinner at local restaurant - inn in Zakopane

Overnight at the hotel in Zakopane

Entrances : to Tatra National park, one way horse carriage ride to Morskie Oko lake

Day 6
DAY 06 – ZAKOPANE – Zalipie – KRAKOW ( 310 km )

After breakfast at hotel departure for Krakow via Zalipie

 A stop in Zalipie village famous from its unique painted houses. The custom of decorating rooms by flowered paintings started in nineteenth century, when women started to decorate the interior of the huts by flowers made of tissue paper, cut-outs and painting flowers on the room walls. The paintings were made also on the external walls of buildings, wells and fences. Now in Zalipie there is approx. 20 painted houses.

Every year a competition for the best painted house in Zalipie is taking place there

Day 7
DAY 07 – KRAKOW - DEPARTURE

 Free time for visit a shopping mall ( Galeria Krakowska )

( bus for the group’s disposal included )

 transfer to the airport for the flight back
