Our first stop is at the ancient city of Kourion,an impressive, unspoiled site perched high on the cliff top. It was the capital of Cyprus for 600 years in ancient times and itsarchaeological legacy is such that UWorld Cultural Heritage List. After your tour leads to the House ofDionysos to see the breathtaking mosaics unearthed during the excavationof a 3rd century A.D, roman nobleman’s villa. The mosaics depict romanlegends with scenes from Greek mythology and are considered to be thefinest in the region. Free time to stroll around the picturesque PaphosHarbor. Back to Limassol hotel and overnight.
Today we will travel through idyllic mountain villages. This tour willtake us just below the highest point on the island, Mount Olympusstanding 1,952 meters above sea level. On the way we will visitArchangelos Michael church in Pedoulas, which is a painpitched church in the lower part of the village dating back to 1474(included in the UNESCO list). We will then drive to Throni Peak tosee the tomb of Archbishop Makarios, first President of the Republic ofCyprus. From there we will visit the inovice. Among the many items of interest here we will be able to admire the miraculous icon of Christand the Virgin Mary painted by St. Luke himself. Visit at Kykko Museum that houses an importantcollection of consecrated vessels and Cypriot antiquities. After KykkoMonastery we continue with a visit to Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis church,which was build in the 11th century using roughly cut stones (included in the UNESCO list) and continue with Kakopetria. The old quarter of the village has been declared a protectedarea and traditional houses haveand overnight.
Leaving Limassol our first stop will be at Choirokoitia Archaeological Site.It is a well preserved settlement from the Neolithic age listed in UNESCOWorld Heritage Site since 1998. We will then travel to tvillage of Lefkara famous for its “Lefkaritika” lace work and itssilverware. Legend has it that Leonardo da Vinci himself came here andbought an altar cloth of the traditional lace, which he donated to theCathedral of Milan. The village mits picturesque stone houses. You will also see the village women sittingoutside their houses and working on their embroidery as their ancestorshave done for generations. Back to Limassol hotel and overnight.
The term Tekke (conventSufi brotherhood, or tariqa, and maycomplex, open to all and it’s not belonging to a single religious movement, lies in a serene setting on theshores of the Larnaca Salt Lake. Hala Sultan Tekke is a listed Ancient Monument. We will continuewith a visit to Pyla village the only village that has been inhabited by Greeks and Turks after the TurkishInvasion in Cyprus. Travelling along the greeto see from a distance the dead city of Ammochostos, which isunder Turkish Occupation. We continue our tour with a visit to thecharming medieval monastery dedicated to ‘Our Lady of theForests’ stands in the middle of Ayia Napa Village surrounded by ahigh wall. Its 16th century church is partly underground and cutinto the rock. The hostel west of the church belongs to the WorldCouncil of Churches. Back to Limassol hotel and overnight.

This is where the production of ‘Coummandaria’ began(the sweet wine of Cyprus), during the period when Colossi served as theGrand Coummandaria of the Knights of the Order of St. John ofJerusalem. Thenpicturesque villages of Troodos Mountains with its white washedhouses and timeless way of life. Stroll through the narrow streets andvisit one of the most ancient Monasteries in Cyprus, the Holy Cross,and then visit an old wine press where village wine can be tasted. Weshall then return to Limassol via Lania, a beautiful little village, wellknown for its resident artists. Back to Limassol hotel and overnight.
